Paediatric Occupational Therapy
for children and families

We come to you. Therapy in your home, your child's school, or wherever they feel most comfortable — in the real spaces where everyday life happens. Serving Melbourne's western suburbs, inner north, and CBD.

🏠
Home, school, or kinder
We come to wherever your child feels most comfortable — no clinic waiting rooms, no travel for families.
🌱
Relational, not clinical
We build trust first. Connection is the foundation for everything — skills follow when a child feels safe and seen.
🧠
Nervous system informed
We look beneath the behaviour to understand what a child's nervous system needs to feel regulated and ready to learn.
Strengths-based always
We focus on what your child can do, not what they can't. Neurodivergence is a different way of experiencing the world.
👨‍👩‍👧
Families are part of it
Parent coaching is woven into every session. We explain what we see and how to carry it into the rest of the week.
NDIS and private welcome
We work with NDIS self-managed and plan-managed families, as well as privately funded families across Melbourne.
Who we support

How we work
Our approach

We don't just work on what a child does — we focus on how they feel. Every session is built on safety, trust, and genuine connection.

Relational therapy

The connection between therapist and child is the foundation. We build trust first. Children grow when they feel safe and accepted — not under pressure.

Sensory integration

We look at how a child's nervous system processes sensation. Understanding sensory needs helps us build strategies that work in everyday life, not just in sessions.

Parent coaching

Parents are the most important people in a child's life. We work alongside you — explaining what we see and how to carry it into the rest of the week.

Strengths-based

We don't focus on what's "wrong." We look at what each child does well and build from there. Neurodivergence is a different way of experiencing the world.

Self-regulation

We help children understand their own nervous systems — and develop tools to manage big feelings, transitions, and sensory overwhelm in daily life.

Polyvagal-informed

We use polyvagal theory to understand what's happening beneath the behaviour. When a child's nervous system feels safe, real growth becomes possible.

Our philosophy

"Connection before correction."

Kids don't thrive because of strategies alone. They thrive when they feel safe, connected, and truly understood. Before we ask a child to stretch, try, or cope — we help their nervous system settle. That usually starts with us: our calm, our playfulness, our patience.

Why home-based
Therapy in your
child's world

Children do their best work in familiar environments. Therapy fits into real life — not the other way around.

Familiar environment

Children are more open at home. Less anxiety means more engagement, and more engagement means better progress.

Real-life context

We observe your child in the spaces they actually live — giving us a much richer picture than a clinic room ever could.

No stigma

Home-based therapy removes the feeling of being taken somewhere to be "fixed." It's just someone coming over to play and grow.

Family involvement

Parents and siblings are naturally part of the session. We work on real routines in the actual moments they happen.

Flexible locations

We can see your child at home, school, kindergarten, or in the community — wherever support is most needed.

Less disruption

No travel, no waiting rooms, no extra transitions. Therapy that fits around your family's routine.

Getting started
How it works

What to expect when you reach out to Seeds OT.

1
Get in touch

Email or phone us with a brief outline of your child's situation. No referral needed. We'll get back to you promptly.

No referral needed
2
Triage with our senior OT

All new enquiries are reviewed by Nisha Bal, our founder and principal OT. She looks at your child's needs, location, and situation to find the right therapist — whether sessions will be at home, school, kindergarten, or elsewhere.

Matched to the right OT for your child
3
Initial call with your OT

Your therapist will get in touch directly for a warm introductory conversation — not a clinical assessment. Just a chance to introduce themselves, talk through timing, location, pricing, travel, and answer any questions before the first visit.

Relaxed · No pressure
4
First home visit

Your therapist comes to you. The first session is largely about getting to know your child — building rapport, observing how they move and play, and hearing your story. No pressure to perform.

5
Ongoing therapy and parent coaching

Regular sessions tailored to your child's goals, with parent coaching woven in. We work with schools and other providers where helpful, and adapt as your child grows and changes.
